Republican, Iris Dewhirst, was on the Board of Supervisors for Tucson…best known for helping to pass dozens of developer related ordinances that sought to protect our natural resources. there is now a library and trailhead in her honor. she died in 1995. taken in front of a north side restaurant, Hidden Valley Inn.

“project 365” has now been enmeshed and morphed into another project to be celebrated with my bestest mate whom I call jojo. although this is day forty-two since I began a docuphotage of my 50^th year on this planet, i realized much of my life right now, is centered around “me, myself/I”  something I totally do not want…it is why I chose to do this project, to capture moments outside of myself in this precious human life.  today I continue this journey with my mates project “Comeback 2010”. I will still document “this precious human life” but it will include photos of his progress and commitment!

it began over date night dinner before seeing the great Lily Tomlin perform (at 70 this woman kicks amazing ass!) and realizing that i spend a whole lot of time doing creative things w/o my partner! it came to me….why not do THIS project together!?  jojo has been trying to get fit for quite awhile…over the last 3-4 years he has been hit with a series of difficulties in and of this life…and I do mean series.  i will not post what it entails because every being has gone through major difficulties in life, it is relative, however, i know how difficult the series was/is because I am his mate…his life partner, good and bad, happy and sad, it is ALL a part of this precious human life.

to help him in his endeavors i thought it would hold him more accountable to post to the world (via flickr) his commitment to “Comeback 2010”!  with love and good karma coming your way…..

i bought this guitar from a student i hired three maybe four summers ago….i thought i’d be jammin by now! it sits in my shop collecting dust and i do imagine it “weeping gently” …no warm fingers to caress it and bring it to life…another lesson of attachment. if you know someone whom truly plays with passion let them know i have “my guitar gently weeps” for anyone who will bring it life, in this lifetime!

this is Paul Moskau taken back in 1985 at the HiCorbett Field. he graduated from Rincon High in Tucson then went on to play pro ball with the Cinncinati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs….to finally come back to manage the Tucson Toros from 1985 – 1988.  i remember doing multiple exposures on his captures because we had such a huge wall! however i’m not sure what i was thinking because it was in the afternoon full sun!

i had not seen him in years and we both dislike the telephone…so there was only one thing a big sis can do…surprise attack! and he was! his fave band back in the day was Pink Floyd, and i found these lyrics quite fitting for the event and discussion we caught up on. tho “hanging on in quiet desperation” is not limited to the “English way” i’d say it fits a whole lot of folks including the colditz clan!  the goal or mission of this 24hr turnaround trip was to reconnect with a sibling..but what happened was much more. the moment i saw his face and looked into his eyes i knew we were already connected, i just forgot.
