“My hands
Open the curtains of your being
Clothe you in a further nudity
Uncover the bodies of your body
My hands
Invent another body for your body”

OCTAVIO PAZ

these were all taken at the Garfield Park Conservatory, in Chicago.  a place where one’s imagination and mind can see the impermanence and fragility of life.

Wicker Park, Chicago

194.365

taken in an area called Wicker Park, it actually has a park!  there was also a street festival happening and everyone was out enjoying the weather!

this last photo has a story…it seems as though he is the older brother, i deducted this by the way he cared for his little brother with physical/mental limitations..the interaction was heart rendering.  i never spoke with them but sat quietly taking notice..how he lifted him, instructed him to “play” and giving him the freedom to do it wrong…so many subtle gestures unspoken..truly a connection of compassion.

…in a blink of an eye..

candid and street photography is very difficult to master…a moment to freeze frame a human emotion, condition, posture, gesture…the subtle nuances of life and living..is fleeting and precious.  i realized that what i capture is a pure karmic moment!  what i’m suppose to see, feel, hear…all my senses are heightened to remember this moment.  i remember lulu standing there waiting patiently for a view of a taxi to take us home after a long day sightseeing, hungry, tired and ready!  the images that follow are my humble beginnings to capture the human condition…

But the son of man has no home to lay his head.”

Moondance

191.365

Well it’s a marvelous night for a moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
‘Neath the cover of October skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And I’m trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
You know the night’s magic
Seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight
Seems to shine in your blush…

lyrics by Van Morrison

taken in Chicago, the view from lulu’s kitchen window….

Give Peace A Chance

188.365

upon my first day in chicago, in the hood of pilsen where my daughter lives…this peaceful protest and chanting for peace. i asked her what was going on and she had NO idea! “first time i’ve seen or heard about this”…that night i was awakened to gunfire in the dead of night consecutive rounds fired… i drifted back to sleep when no commotion occurred or arrived…the next evening we were greeted by police right outside her building blocking the street w/people in cuffs!
i never personally saw any violence but obviously there is an undertone to be reckoned with.
