today marks a day in our country where we recognize it as a national holiday to honor the many brave men and women who serve in the military.
“May everyone be happy,
May everyone be free from misery,
May no one ever be separated from their happiness,
May everyone have equanimity, free from hatred and attachment.”
Buddha

Must of been late afternoon
On our way the sun broke free of the clouds
We count only blue cars
Skip the cracks, in the street
And ask many questions
Like children often do
We said,
Tell me all your thoughts on God?
‘Cause I would really like to meet her.
And ask her why we’re who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God,
Cause I am on my way to see her.
So tell me am I very far -
Am I very far now?
partial lyrics from Dishwalla…this is an obvious abstract!
how do you define protection?
Dharma: protection. thru practising Buddha’s teachings, we protect ourself from suffering and problems.

this was taken in my warehouse..i’m fascinated lately with the human body in its form as abstract. this is actually a black mannequin against a black backdrop with natural skylight lighting..softened the focus so as not to have high sheen from the mannequin and a sense of “what is this?” took the exposure down one third…symbolic of being one third done on this project of capturing moments over 365 days.

I’ve got a word or two
To say about the things that you do
You’re telling all those lies
About the good things that we can have
If we close our eyes
Do what you want to do
And go where you’re going to
Think for yourself
‘Cause I won’t be there with you
I left you far behind
The ruins of the life that you had in mind
And though you still can’t see
I know your mind’s made up
You’re gonna cause more misery
Do what you want to do
And go where you’re going to
Think for yourself
‘Cause I won’t be there with you
Although your mind’s opaque
Try thinking more if just for your own sake
The future still looks good
And you’ve got time to rectify
All the things that you should
Do what you want to do
And go where you’re going to
Think for yourself
‘Cause I won’t be there with you
Do what you want to do
And go where you’re going to
Think for yourself
‘Cause I won’t be there with you
Think for yourself
‘Cause I won’t be there with you

Little child, little child,
Little child, won’t you dance with me?
I’m so sad and lonely,
Baby take a chance with me.
If you want someone
To make you feel so fine,
Then we’ll have some fun
When you’re mine, all mine,
So come, come on, come on.
Little child, little child,
Little child, won’t you dance with me?
I’m so sad and lonely,
Baby take a chance with me.
When you’re by my side,
You’re the only one,
Don’t run and hide,
Just come on, come on,
So come on, come on, come on.
lyrics by The Beatles
this little child is my first born, mariko (meeko). taken inside the warehouse, doing a study of the human form in abstract. i loved how feminine this turned out and how graceful her hand falls. thus my post today…

I’ve just seen a face,
I can’t forget the time or place
Where we just meet.
She’s just the girl for me
And want all the world to see
We’ve met, mmm-mmm-mmm-m’mmm-mmm.
Had it been another day
I might have looked the other way
And I’d have never been aware.
But as it is I’ll dream of her
Tonight, di-di-di-di’n'di.
Falling, yes I am falling,
And she keeps calling
Me back again.
I have never known
The like of this, I’ve been alone
And I have missed things
And kept out of sight
But other girls were never quite
Like this, da-da-n’da-da’n'da.
Falling, yes I am falling,
And she keeps calling
Me back again.
Falling, yes I am falling,
And she keeps calling
Me back again.
I’ve just seen a face,
I can’t forget the time or place
Where we just meet.
She’s just the girl for me
And want all the world to see
We’ve met, mmm-mmm-mmm-da-da-da.
Falling, yes I am falling,
And she keeps calling
Me back again.
Falling, yes I am falling,
And she keeps calling
Me back again.
Oh, falling, yes I am falling,
And she keeps calling
Me back again.
i love The Beatles lyrics…they sing a lot about love! this song reminded me of youth, which makes sense because they wrote most of their hits in their 20′s! what is youthful is that sense that when we meet MR or MRS right they are unlike anyone else, we exaggerate their good qualities, and our mind see’s no faults whatsoever!! funny how age and or life experiences changes these perceptions…of equanimity.

Boy, you gotta carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
Boy, you gotta carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
I never give you my pillow
I only send you my invitations
And in the middle of the celebrations
I break down
Boy, you gotta carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
Boy, you gotta carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
lyrics by The Beatles
taken downtownish area, place called Barrio Brewing. we like to go there because it has seating outside and we take our pup with to soak in sun, food and visuals of urban life. “carry that weight”…we ALL have to carry baggage in some form, whether physical or emotional and yet Buddha said only human beings have the capacity to become enlightened.

Love, love me do.
You know I love you,
I’ll always be true,
So please, love me do.
Whoa, love me do.
Love, love me do.
You know I love you,
I’ll always be true,
So please, love me do.
Whoa, love me do.
Someone to love,
Somebody new.
Someone to love,
Someone like you.
Love, love me do.
You know I love you,
I’ll always be true,
So please, love me do.
Whoa, love me do.
Love, love me do.
You know I love you,
I’ll always be true,
So please, love me do.
Whoa, love me do.
Yeah, love me do.
Whoa, oh, love me do
