When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine.
If I’d been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I’m sixty-four.
You’ll be older too,
And it you say the word,
I could stay with you.
I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride,
Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I’m sixty-four.
Every summer we can rent a cottage,
In the Isle of Wight, if it’s not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera Chuck & Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line,
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I’m sixty-four.
met with a young and upcoming graffiti artist after work today…he is a teenager struggling to perfect his art form…. our city of almost one million population, has a councilman wanting to change the laws so that parents will be jailed if their kids are caught!! ok, now the rant…why can we not have a public wall or two for these kids to practice this art form of self expression? how can we educate the people in this community to the beauty and skill in this medium? i have travelled extensively and in most large cities they do have “safety zones” or walls dedicated to artists for this medium! and i must say they are works of art! in barcelona, spain, right next door to the museum of modern art they have a wall which extends the length of the building and contains the plaza where all mural/graffiti artists daily gather to paint new works…with skate boarders!! as the mom of this young man said so beautifully, “i love his art and admire his new works and then he goes and paints over it….they have NO attachment!” hhmmm…seems we could learn something from our youth today.

noticing the impermanence in life again…..taken from the “book of walls” project, in may of 1985. this was in front of Farmer John Meat Company which has long been closed. gary williams used to be manager for the desert museum here but now manages the tucson rodeo! the mural was done back in the early 1960’s and today is still a landmark, though the mural is in terrible distress. it has been repainted several times, not by the original artist and it shows…..

In the town where i was born, lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life, in the land of submarine
So we sailed up to the sun til we found the sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves in on yellow submarine.
We all live in a yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
And our friends are all on board. Many more of them live nex door
And the band begins to play.
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine. We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.
As we live a life of easy
Every one of us has all we need.Sky of blue and sea of green
In our yellow submarine.
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine. We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine. We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine. We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
ok, so i know this is a huge stretch but it’s late and twas a long day! utilized my “window” sculpture as a means to create my own “yellow submarine” out of grapefruits which are plentiful in my backyard! at least i can provide some vitamin C for the homeless that cruise my warehouse! and one can see “the sea of green”…

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they’re here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Suddenly, I’m not half the man I used to be,
There’s a shadow hanging over me.
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.
Why she had to go I don’t know she woldn’t say.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.
Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Mm mm mm mm mm.
i took this shot “yesterday”…valentines day. for me everyday ought to be devoted to LOVE…the shadows on the wall are tibetan prayer flags that hang on my front porch and the late afternoon cast is my favorite time to shoot photos! it “feels” warm, nostalgic, thoughtful to the day and it’s memories.

Who knows how long I’ve loved you
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime
If you want me to–I will.
For if I ever saw you
I didn’t catch your name
But it never really mattered
I will always feel the same.
Love you forever and forever
Love you with all my heart
Love you whenever we’re together
Love you when we’re apart.
And when at last I find you
Your song will fill the air
Sing it loud so I can hear you
Make it easy to be near you
For the things you do endear you to me
You know I will
I will.
i will never forget meeting the Rev. a man true to his conviction of helping ALL beings regardless of who/where/why/how….on valentines day i dedicate it to Rev. Fife.

What goes on in your heart?
What goes on in your mind?
You are tearing me apart
When you treat me so unkind
What goes on in your mind
The other day I saw you
As I walked along the road
But when I saw him with you
I could feel my future fold
It’s so easy for a girl like you to lie
Tell me why
What goes on in your heart?
What goes on in your mind?
You are tearing me apart
When you treat me so unkind
What goes on in your mind
I met you in the morning
waiting for the tides of time
But now the tide is turning
I can see that I was blind
It’s so easy for a girl like you to lie
Tell me why
What goes on in your heart?
I used to think of no on else
But you were just the same
You didn’t even think of me
As someone with a name
Did you mean to break my heart and watch me die
Tell me why
What goes on in your heart?
What goes on in your mind?
You are tearing me apart
When you treat me so unkind
What goes on in your mind
In your mind
In your mind
“colt macias” a young artist here in tucson. he paints in acrylics and has the passion most youth carry…especially in love. i love working with young adults, their perceptions in life are so…well..passionate, full of life to come, invincible, daring and because they have not lived a long life full of experiences they seem freer in spirit..i think this is what draws me to them, their love of living to the fullest in any given moment without attachments.

You’re going to lose that girl,
You’re going to lose that girl.
If you don’t take her out tonight,
She’s going to change her mind,
And I will take her out tonight,
And I will treat her kind.
You’re going to lose that girl,
You’re going to lose that girl.
If you don’t treat her right, my friend,
You’re going to find her gone,
’cause I will treat her right, and then
You’ll be the lonely one.
You’re going to lose that girl,
You’re going to lose that girl.
I’ll make a point
Of taking her away from you, yeah,
The way you treat her what else can I do?
You’re going to lose that girl,
You’re going to lose that girl.
I’ll make a point
Of taking her away from you, yeah,
The way you treat her what else can I do?
If you don’t take her out tonight,
She’s going to change her mind,
And I will take her out tonight,
And I will treat her kind.
You’re going to lose that girl,
You’re going to lose that girl
this is lauren pace…1985! scanning images from an old project and i found her with a couple hundred shots! i may need to invest in a light box to narrow my searches! she was thee first vintage queen here in tucson, her store was the first of its kind, way before vintage or second hand was fashionable to wear or buy! and yes, she no longer has her store called “Hand Me Ups”…so we did lose her! i imagine her still living in tucson living life one step ahead….

A little help from my friends
What would you think if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me.
Lend me your ears and I’ll sing you a song,
And I’ll try not to sing out of key.
I get by with a little help from my friends,
I get high with a little help from my friends,
Going to try with a little help from my friends.
What do I do when my love is away.
(Does it worry you to be alone)
How do I feel by the end of the day
(Are you sad because you’re on your own)
No I get by with a little help from my friends,
Do you need anybody,
I need somebody to love.
Could it be anybody
I want somebody to love.
Would you believe in a love at first sight,
Yes I’m certain that it happens all the time.
What do you see when you turn out the light,
I can’t tell you, but I know it’s mine.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Do you need anybody,
I just need somebody to love,
Could it be anybody,
I want somebody to love.
I get by with a little help from my friends,
Yes I get by with a little help from my friends,
With a little help from my friends.
this was taken back in 1986 when UA basketball coach, Lute Olsen, was king! he actually took the time to meet with me for this “book of walls” project i was working on…needless to say it all sits in a huge box…hundreds of slides! it was in the month of may where the temp was over 100 degrees, yet he still wore a jacket! anywho…when i decided to relook at this project it struck me how Buddha said that everything is impermanent…including status, wealth, health…..Lute was a great coach who achieved his status through his karma but also from the karma and lives of the boys that played for him. no human can take the credit for any accomplishment without “a little help from my friends”.

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye
Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

Any time at all, any time at all, any time at all , all
you’ve gotta do is call and I’ll be there.
If you need somebody to love, just look into my eyes, I’ll
be there to make you feel right.
If you’re feeling sorry and sad, I’d really sympathize.
Don’t you be sad, just call me tonight.
Any time at all, any time at all, any time at all , all
you’ve gotta do is call and I’ll be there.
If the sun has faded away, I’ll try to make it shine,
there’s nothing I won’t do
If you need a shoulder to cry on I hope it will be mine.
Call me tonight, and I’ll come to you.
Any time at all, any time at all, any time at all , all
you’ve gotta do is call and I’ll be there.
Any time at all, all you’ve gotta do is call and I’ll be there.
